Our Practice

 

Nith Valley Family Practice was established in the 1960’s as a small group practice serving New Hamburg and has grown to a group of five physicians supported by an enthusiastic team of highly skilled nurses and administrators to provide quality, patient and community-centered primary care to the residents of Wilmot Township and surrounding area

Tom Erling, MD

Dr. Tom Erling has been in practice in New Hamburg since 1983.  He was a graduate of medicine at the University of Toronto followed by a post graduate residency in Family Medicine at McMaster University.  He enjoys tennis, physical fitness and playing the piano.

Patrick Keating, MD

Dr. Patrick Keating was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario and graduated from McMaster University’s Honours Bachelor of Health Science program.  He continued his education at McMaster where he completed his medical degree and residency training and is now an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) in the Department of Family Medicine.  Now living in Kitchener – Waterloo, Dr. Keating enjoys teaching medical students and residents at all levels of training and is thrilled to work at Nith Valley Family Practice.  He is an avid golfer and enjoys a number of other sports as well as spending time with his wife and daughter.

Aimée McMillan, MD

Dr. Aimee McMillan is originally from Guelph, Ontario is very happy to be settle in Waterloo Region. She obtained her degree in Physiology with a minor in Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario.  She then studied medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton, followed by residency training in Family Medicine at McMaster University – Halton.  She has been in practice in New Hamburg since 2013, and enjoys hosting medical students and residents.  She is thrilled to be working and living in a vibrant community that offers so many opportunities for a rich and active life.

David Martin, MD

Dr. David Martin is originally from Mississauga, Ontario.  He obtained his degree in Biochemistry at the University of Western Ontario.  He then attended medical school at Queen’s University followed by his post graduate residency training in Family Medicine at McMaster University.  He has been in practice in New Hamburg since 2017 and enjoys taking medical learners as an Adjunct clinical Professor with McMaster University.  He enjoys hockey, baseball, golf, traveling and spending time with his wife and two children.

Sarah Rinaldi, MD

Dr. Sarah Rinaldi grew up in a small town in the Niagara region.  She then attended McMaster University where she obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) with a minor in English.  From there she moved to London to complete a Masters in Anatomy at The University of Western Ontario and she accepted a Faculty position as an Anatomy Learning Specialist in the medical program.  Her love of medicine continued to grow and she ultimately pursued a medical degree at the University of Toronto, followed by a residency in Family Medicine in Kitchener Waterloo. Dr. Rinaldi received additional training in surgical procedures and is happy to provide this service to her patients.  She loves to teach residents and medical students as an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) at McMaster, but she also loves to share her knowledge with her patients. She is passionate about preventative care and she hopes to make a difference in the overall health and wellbeing of all her patients.
